As by now, the whole world knows all or something about the magnitude of devastation, caused by the century’s worst floods to hit any country, this is a brief note of one of the many thousands of teams, giving their share in relief efforts for the affected populace Where there are hundreds of organizations indulged in voluntary work regarding this disaster through there thousands of teams, the Hyderabad Sindh Pakistan Chapter of Anjuman-e-Saifee is also playing its role via its wing Saifee Ambulance Corps.
Members of SAC or better known as Saifee Guards have taking it as a daily duty to collect relief goods and also to mention hundreds of thousands in cash by generous countrymen in last few days and as in tradition with the Dawoodi Bohra community’s style of work, they are also well planned on how to use it.
There are 3 sub-teams working simultaneously since last 2 weeks each team given to accomplish a section of the 3-Phase Strategy to deal with the relief work. In Phase-1, the team’s task is to collect whatever material or cash they get from their fellow Bohra community members and also a much bigger share from the non Bohras living specially in the surroundings of Saddar and Burhani Nagar (Qasimabad), both areas where Bohras have significant population. Due to the community’s clean reputation, Non-Bohras don’t feel hesitated to submit their donations to SAC Camps.
2nd Phase of the plan is to provide cooked foods daily at about dinner time to different IDP Camps established by the government and army at different locations in Hyderabad and Kotri and other Intrior Sides.
The 3rd and last phase will start after the first round of collection is completed. This team will arrange and provide packages of Weekly Ration of essentials enough for 7 peoples and then distributed amongst the most needy.
As the clamity has not shown its end yet, so has the SAC planned this to continue until the last of IDPs return back to their homes, insh’Allah. This cannot be possible without the help of all those who have a heart or the will to help these fellow countrymen in the hours of crisis.
