Moving Ahead

After our server meltdown, we’re taking a hard look at what direction our services should take in the future. We know what we like to see, but at the same time we know we’re not representative of those who visit our site. We’d really like to get some feedback from our readers. What parts of Mumineen.org do you like? What do you want to see more of? What are we doing right? What are we doing wrong? Comments are open.

UPDATE: In light of the comments we’re receiving, we would like to reiterate our policy that mumineen.org does not answer questions relating to fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) or provide online sabaq. For questions of this nature, please contact your local raza na saheb.

  1. mumineen.org is doing a great job. I desire several new things. I want to have more quality articles and essays on our history, law, culture, heritage and lots of other things. Akhbar of our beloved Maula TUS should be updated daily if possible. Try and have some competitions for the visitors such as quizes etc.

  2. i would like to know more about all our 21 imams with thier full life span, also a sugesstion that all the arkaans of namaaz audio to be uploaded so that it can be heared and small minor errors in reciting can be corrected

  3. Munieen.org and other similar sites roled out by raza of aqua moula forms a solid backbone for those individuals that are fluent in english but less accustomed to lisan-ud-dawat. It would be great if this site can play a pivotal role in englightening those mumineens that somehow have got so busy with their worldly lives that they have reduced their visit to mosques and hardly attend any sabaks. I really likes reading the english articles about our deen and aimat-thareen, awliya kiram etc. What could be done is that we could provide a better interface so that we can capture the attention of these mumineen and rekindle the light in their hearts. May be rewrite and reorder in proper sequence right from the begining … say Adam Nabi and slowly building it so that they recognize the brillaint history and strong message in our deen.

I also find many slander written over and over again about us bohras on the internet and quoted without any investigation by many many others. We could have some aalim saheb appointed who could answer these question online, something like a FAQ, so that mumineen can have an authentic source to clarify their misconceptions.

  4. Salaam,

Mumineen.org is one of the sites which I think has a nice design to start with. The audio/video section can be enhanced with more resources. The salaat time look up is also a handy utility to check timings on the fly so that should also figure in the design.

What I would like to see are more articles on history and our rich culture. I think it is needed that sites like mumineen.org and malumaat.com take an active stand in promoting thier presence since many other anti-bohra sites are way ahead in propoganda. Try google …

Besides that its a great site to visit .. efforts should be taken not just by the site designers but people like us to post new things so as to get return-visits.

May Allah grant our beloved Moula long and healthy life. Ameen.

    Regards,
    Husain

  5. Mumineen.org has a rich repository of Deeni articles; I’d love to see this collection increase over time.

Is it possible to have more up-to-date Akhbar posts? I’m afraid this is one area where Mumineen.org has been lagging somewhat.

  6. Ba’d salaam jameel,

As a mumin of non-Indo/Pak origin, not knowing Lisan al-Da’wa, Gujrati or Urdu, mumineen.org, with its articles in English has been and is one of my main mediums for acquiring some knowledge about our Deen. I would request you to give more detailed accounts about our Holy Imams, Du’at and Awliya’s lives. I think it would also be very useful to have some more than basic information about zahir deeni ilm (prayer, zakat, hajj, roza, deeni adab…) and a question/answer section about fiqh matters. Finally, I would like to read more articles about akhlaq, based on the teachings and stories of our A’immah Tahireen, Du’at and Awliya’.
    wassalam

  7. Spelling. When I attempt to write something in Anglicized Lisan al-Da’wat, it is always annoying to not have a reference for spelling. Imaam or Imam? Iman, eman or emaan? Once you have enough written, standards emerge – like how English just emerged.

I am a horrible speller, including in English, so I often use google to help me. For Lisan-ud-Dawat, I do http://www.google.com/search?q=eman+site%3Amumineen.org and count comparative hits.

Something as simple as that, built into the site – or better yet something as high end as a semi-official dictionary with meanings in English, Anglicized L-D and Taheri font would be nice. Maybe an on-line cut-and-paste spell checker when thats done.

You have done a great job – and I am looking forward to your new site.

    shukran,
    Qutbuddin

  8. Salaam-ul-Jameel,
First of all I must thank the khidmatguzars of Mumineen.org for their unselfish and excellent khidmat that they have rendered for so many years.

Mumineen.org is an excellent source for ilmi, jamaat and akhbar information. I have been visiting it for many years now and am impressed with it’s design and content. I have benefitted a lot from it’s various deeni articles, publications, jamaat information, akhbar, various audio and video files.

I would like to see more publications & articles on fiqh, akhlaaq, iqtebaas, hikmat, qissaa and sayings of Ambiya(SA), Aimmat(AS), Duat(RA) and Hudood kiram.

I had benefitted a lot from the audio bayaan on akhlaaq and would like to see more bayans posted on the audio section. Similarly more marasiyas and nohas would also be appreciated.

    Shukran,
    Was-Salaam,
    Abbas

  9. My Salaam to All,

As a mumin, not fluent in Lisan al-Da’wa, mumineen.org, with its articles and quiz in English has been very useful to increase my knowledge about our Deen. Salaat timing services is extremely good. Please keep up the good work and hope to see more articles giving detailed accounts about life history of our dearest Holy Imams,Du’at and Awliya. I also would like to propose online sabaq on zahir ilm (prayer, zakat, hajj, roza, deeni adab…) and a question/answer section about fiqh matters. A section to improve one’s verbal and written skills in lisan al Da’wa will also be useful.

    wassalam

    Abdullah

  10. My frequent visits to mumineen.org have been to synchronize my clock times (trivial but important) and for salaat times. I find the simple, pleasing to the eye layout of mumineen.org highly desirable. I must say that I always prefer visiting mumineen.org first for any update or reference compared to other webs of our community. However, I agree with one of the other previous post that update of Huzurala (TUS) Akhbar needs to be prompt. I really like to get the news from mumineen.org compared to other sites which are popular but I do not like their cluttered look. I would like to commend the webmasters for the excellent job they have been doing for all this time.

  11. Mumineen.org is an excellent website with a comprehensive list of features. More informative articles on Islamic jurisprudence would definitely be a plus.

As an increasing number of mumineen have started moving away from their immediate families, simple and lucid discussions on namaaz, importance of various duas and articles along the similar lines would help a lot.

Regardless the site is very well designed. Shukran for all the facilites.
May Allah grant our beloved Moula long and healthy life. Ameen.

    Wasalaam,
    Husein

  12. BRILLIANT SOURCE OF INFO. WELLDONE !!!
WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE CATERED TOWARDS BASIC’S AND KIDS
POSSIBLY IN A INTERACTIVE MOALIM FORM WHERE PARENTS AND KIDS CAN LEARN WUDZU, NAMAZ, SURATS,MEHDHAI,MARISIYA,AKHABAR, LISAN UL DAWAT.
POSSIBLY EVEN A KIDS SECTION TO THE SITE , MORE COLOUR , COLOURING PAGES WITH OUR MASJIDS, BASIC BLOCKS THAT CAN BE ARRANGED TO BUILD UP OUR MASJIDS EG. MASJID AL LULLUA , JAMIAL ANWAR ETC. , ARABIC LETTERS , RIWAYAT .
I KNOW THEY HAVE SOME OF THIS ON MISBAH BUT THEY NEED IT TO BE MORE BASIC FOR SMALLER KIDS I WOULD MUCH PREFER MY KINDERGARTENER TO WATCH AND DO THINGS ON OUR DEENI SITE THAN CARTOONS OR USING THE DISNEY SITE!
YOU SHOULD CHECK THESE SITE FOR IDEAS LIKE PBS.ORG AND DISNEY PLAYHOUSE. BUT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT ALL PARENTS AND KIDS IN THE WEST ARE CRAIVING FOR WHOLESOME ILM AND AKHBAR OF OUR BELOVED MAULA TO NOURISH THEM FROM YOUNG AND TO IGNITE THEIR MOHABAT IN OUR WONDERFUL MAULA OUR DEEN.

REALLY HOPE YOU CAN ENCPORPERATE THIS GOOD LUCK
LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU UP AGAIN
    THANKS

  13. I use mumineen.org as my home page. Very useful for keeping in touch with the akhbar of Huzurala tus and the events related to our religion and culture.

It is a great site for keeping our children in touch with our culture our heritage who are, away at college but can come home for important prayers.

Jazak Allah for the khidmat done. Hope to see the site soon available. It has become a part of our day to day life to visit mumineen.org

  14. Thanks for all your efforts.

The core objective of the site is the akhbar of Aqamaula TUS. However over the years it has evolved into a community portal becoming a very important tool of communcation and knowledge enrichment.

With this my humble advice is the new design should be based on portal architecture with clear defined navigational routes with a dimension of e-learning based on LCMS and LMS. This will help in the stability and reliability of the portal.

The other most important point I would like to make is the intoduction of Aqamoula Ashara Mubarak waaz talaaqi initiative strated in 1427 Mumbai. The continuity to the same which I feel is very important spiritual aspect of Mumineen’s life can be provided by Mumineen.org.

    Warm salaams,
    Safiyah

  15. Hello, i personally think mumineen.org is very informative, user friendly website…yes there is always room for improvment such as the precaution against technical issues of maintenace of the web site and server problems…also i would say that there should be more activity in the website , meaning more interactive, so that mumineen can really associate themselves with the site and frequent updates is much appreciated..overall i think mumineen.org is a very well maintanied website. i hope the site is re-launched soon

  16. Mumineen.org is doing Great JOb by by updating the articles of the perls led out by our beloved Aqa Moula. It would be doing more if mumineen.org gives us mumineen more detail history of our Imams, their Lives, Culture and so on…….how did 21st Imam went in Seclution & soand so on…….Also it would be great if you update on latest Marsiyas. Also Quran in Lehan with Translation would be higly Apreciated.

Hope to see this site with latest updates & many more changes
May Allah(T.A) give Jaza-e-Khair to all Khidmatguzaes.

  17. Salaam,

I am an ardent fan of yours and visit you site once in a day for the updates. I am residing in Siegen, Germany and when ever I feel like having the Barakaat of Kalemat Nooraniyah I listen to the recordings on your website and feel as if am sitting in the Majlis of our Jaano si Awla Moula and doing talakki of Moulas bayan. I really pray for all the Khidmat guzaars associated with munineen.org at that time.Further my suggestion is firstly to include the namaaz timing of my city in your index, ( I tried sending you a mail many times but there was some problem), further also have a section wherein yougsters can put in the question relating to deen and shariyat and get the answers from an authentic source.
I hope that the website is restored soon and we can take the barakaat of it.

    Was salaam,

    Aliasgar

  18. Salaam ,

Mumineen.org is an excellent site. I would like to say that for people who are working/staying in such parts of the world where there is no community presence, mumineen.org is “the” medium to keep yourself abreast of happenings in the community as well as for daily needs such as customized calendar feature for namaaz timings, miqats etc. The archives section with postings on our history and culture is very good and the quizzes posted are an excellent medium for knowledge enhancement. I would like to see more of those quizzes. Also there are translations of dua’s posted such as Imam Ali Zainul Abedin’s dua which has tremendous effect when you recite knowing the meaning. Would it be possible to publish translations of other dua’s such as dua of Imam Husain on Ashura and the dua’s that we recite daily in Namaaz.

All in all, mumineen.org team is doing an excellent job and more and more people are looking forward to it.

  19. Firstly I would like to say thank you to the whole Mumineen.org team for the selfless khidmat in enlightening, and informing the Dawoodi Bohra masses. I am a regular visitor to mumineen.org and find it very informative, the site is really well designed and the content is good. However I have found that articles and essays are the same ones that have been there for a while. We are blessed that we are inheritors of the rich Fatimid heritage and literature and I feel that more can be done to get this across to a growing number of people especially younger people living in the west. I myself am a college student and my deen is very something I am very passionate about and I would love to know more about it. There are many knowledgable mumineen out there who know about deen and regular contributions by these people would be great. I would like to say a special thank you to Mulla Juzer Shk Yusuf whose scholarly articles have been pricless as well as the rest of the mumineen.org team

  20. It would be nice if Jamaats section could be updated with the latest telephone and fax numbers as well as postal addresses.
Thank you for this unique website!

  21. Hi,

I always used to visit mumineen.org to get first the salaat times because I was living in a far city and it was a very useful help for me.

As I’m a french speaking, it would be good if sometimes you can have translated articles, specially those about our history so that this site would become more accessible for those who doesn’t understand well english.

What I would like to see is : sabak, specially about all about the namaz, the wuzu, it would be could if it can helps us in improving our way of praying, it would be goof if we can find more quranic audio download.

It would be good if we can find important duas and tasbih.

I must tell as others said before that the design of your site is perfect.

May Alla ta’alla give our Aqa Mowla (TUS) a long and healthy life. Ameen

  22. very well job done and should keep it up its khidmat and we all apreciate the dedication given by the team of this site

  23. Salaam e Jameel,

With Raza and Doa Mubarak of Aqa Moula TUS, the khidmat guzaars of mumineen.org have been doing a great job.
Shukran to all those taking time out and providing their services for this great cause.

The only suggestion I would like to make is that the mumineen writing akhbar of Aqa Moula TUS try their best and write it in Lisanu Dawat instead of english. This will increase mumineen’s reading, writing and speaking of our language.

Besides, I think we have all heard Aqa Moula TUS’s farmaan for us to use our language, so how about we start it on mumineen.org as well.

    Doa ma yaad,

    Mufaddal

  24. http://www.mumineen.org is really important site to get daily akhbar of our beloved aaqa maula TUS, and also very good for other deeni messages being given on time with details and photos too, so for the same i myself once used to go on this website of mumineen.org every day

may Allah grant our beloved aaqa maula TUS long & healthy life till the day of qayamat..Aameen.

  25. I have missed Muminnen.org prolifically since its breakdown and pray for early resumation of normal service. The site is perfect as is; some audio requires more frequent updating but I am privileged to be able to access such a valuable resource. Congratulations to all who work very hard to provide this faciltyand may you always continue to do so with the dua of our beloved Aqa Maula Burhanuddin(TUS). May Allah T’Ala grant hime long life and sehat Taamma Ila Roze Qayamat.Aameen.

  26. Whenever there is an important day, it would be wonderful to have a link that explains the significance of the day and the prayers that go with it. While we get this information from the vaaz, having this information in writing up front would be a great way to teach the kids before going to the masjid.

Also, in the digital age we now live in, we should also recognize that non-Mumineens also visit this site and we should be proactive about providing accurate resources that reflect to the outside world who we are, what we stand for, and how we fit into the wider Islamic world. While we do not need to get involved in politics, we should highlight up front the many contributions we have made (charity, architecture, jurisprudence, education, etc) to communities of all faiths and the important work our community is doing to foster improved relations with all people around the world, regardless of religion.

Finally, for me, the greatest asset of this website is that it is in English. I think this is an enormous asset as a medium for knowledge, especially for the younger generations who might otherwise slip through the cracks. The site should be as proactive as possible in reaching out to youth and giving them a forum for discussing ideas and learning as much as possible about the many varied aspects of our faith.

Thank you for soliciting our input, and for this service.

  27. I would like a database of written marasiyahs (new and old), just like the audio part has been handled superbly. Also, I would like there to be more detailed information about the basics of our deen, so if there is ever any questions, we can look up like the “zahir” stuff.

  28. We would like to see the life & accounts of all the past Dais -how they lived and practiced and directed our community at those times-What were the customs that time etc-

  29. salaams,
really hats off 2 the wonderful team of Mumineen.org….and i would like to sincerely thank all of them for building a very perfect website. It would be very nice if all mumineen around the world participate n communicate with each other thru this medium. The website will look more attractive by having some Deeni Quizzes n Prizes to winners. Also there can be a medium of educating each other by posting dignitories like Doctors,Officers and other social helpers who can contribute their immense knowledge thru professional expertise n people can ask questions n problems to such people. With Dua of our Aqa Moula may Mumineen.org have a longer n infinite life.Ameen.

  30. This site is a great way of keeping track of the current affairs happening with huzerala TUS. I greatly appreciate the work that is put into making this website happen. This site is my home page and it becomes mandatory for me to see mumineen.org everyday and it is a joy for me to see my moula. Everything on the site is superb but I only have one thing that you can work on. This is that you should add more marasiyah, madeh ,noha to the audio section. Other than this I think that you are doing a great job in doing moulana’s khidmat. May Allah taala grant our moula Syedna Mohammed Burhannudin Saheb a long, healthy and porperous life till Qayamat. AMEEN
    Shukria
